Chart Zoom is written for the healthcare IT and operations teams who integrate, run, and answer for their EMR. This page explains how we source and vet what we publish.
What we rely on
Where we describe certification, information blocking, or TEFCA, we cite HealthIT.gov and the ONC Certified Health IT Product List (CHPL). Where we describe conditions of participation or program requirements, we cite CMS.gov. For interoperability standards we point to the published HL7 and FHIR specifications. Where a claim concerns a specific product's behavior, we reference the vendor's own published documentation, release notes, or status page rather than a secondhand summary.
How we evaluate systems
We publish structured, vendor-neutral evaluation criteria rather than star ratings, because a sales demo tells you almost nothing about interface behavior after go-live, data quality after migration, or how a vendor responds at 2am. We don't take vendor sponsorship or paid placements, and we don't quote a specific product's price, since EMR pricing is negotiated per contract.

Update cadence
Articles are reviewed periodically and updated when a cited rule, standard, or CHPL listing changes. Each article notes when it was last updated.
